Advisory Council

The Council is the custodian of the Conference and the Board of Directors of ICYPAA Inc 501c. It is both the legal guardian and spiritual servant of ICYPAA.

Its purposes include but are not limited to:

Practice the AA 12 steps, 12 traditions and 12 concepts of world service.
Make available, to any AA member who requests it, information regarding ICYPAA and Young People in AA
Make regular contact with General Service Office.
Provide guidance to Committees who are bidding for the Conference.
Select future conference sites from bids offered at each year's Conference.
Provide guidance to the current Host Committee.
Custodial oversight of ICYPAA and veto power over the host committee.
Protect the corporation, its assets and manage the corporation using best practices of not-for-profits.
Uphold its fiduciary responsibility.
Practice transparency in its affairs.
Maintain the archives.

ICYPAA Forum

The ICYPAA Forum is the primary means by which the ICYPAA Advisory Council demonstrates transparency to and is held accountable by the A.A. members it serves -- the attendees of ICYPAA. It is held on a yearly basis at ICYPAA, and will be attended by the entire active Advisory Council, representative members of each bidding city, and any registered A.A. attendee of ICYPAA.

It consists of two back-to-back 1-hour sessions. During the first session, Council officers and sub-committee chairs will give brief reports covering their activities on behalf of ICYPAA during the year. Attendees are highly encouraged to ask questions during this session.

The second session is made up entirely of questions from attendees who line up at the mic, drop an anonymous question in the ask-it-basket, or who submit questions for the Forum to us during the year on icypaa.org.

Every question will receive an answer. If time prohibits any question from being answered during the ICYPAA Forum, it will be covered in the final report for that year's Forum. Final Reports will be available on icypaa.org 30 days after ICYPAA and an email notification will be sent out to all of those who sign up for ICYPAA updates.
